The police in Yobe State have caught a big bad guy who was on their most-wanted list.
The police officer in charge of talking to the public, DSP Dungus Abdulkarim, shared this news on Saturday.
According to the report, on July 5, 2024, around 1 PM, special detectives from the police department caught a man named Usmanu Garba. He is 30 years old and from Katarko Village in Gujba. The police caught him while he was going to spend money he got from a kidnapping.
The police said Usmanu is part of a bad gang. This gang does bad things like stealing, kidnapping, and taking cattle in Gujba and nearby towns.
“The gang was behind a recent kidnapping in Babaram Muktum, a place where Fulani people live in Gujba. They kidnapped a person from there and asked for N1.6 million to let him go.
“They also took the victim’s father’s mobile phone before freeing the person. Some of the gang members are still hiding, but the police are working hard to find them,” the police said.
The police also said Usmanu admitted he did the crime and is helping them with more information as they investigate.
The head police officer wants everyone to be careful and tell the police if they see anything strange happening.
