FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, has vowed not to support Governor Siminalayi Fubara again in his political life.
“I will never again support Fubara in my political life. It is not about me. The people worked hard to build a structure,” Wike said in an interview on Channels television on Friday.
Mr Wike, a former governor of oil-rich Rivers State, who helped Mr Fubara succeed him as Rivers governor, said Mr Fubara would not have reached 50th position in the race if it were not for his (Wike's) sacrifice.
“I sacrificed myself to speak to the Ogonis, I sacrificed myself to speak to several other people who let us go down this path.
“You turned it into something like I am asking for 50 billion, 100 billion naira. You uncovered lies against me. I raised you, I put you here. Today, it turned out that I was too demanding,” the minister said.
Wike went on to say that his successor had not thanked him for his support or that of others who worked to make him governor. He further said that Fubara was destroying the political structure that brought him to power.
“In every political family, elections are held under the direction of people and people believe that we are all together. We must maintain our political structure.

“Your rose has escaped somewhere. Why do you deny it? It is unfair and you want me to sit down,” said the minister.
“We are all human, ingratitude is bad, no matter how you label it,” the minister replied when asked about his demands to Mr. Fubara. He added that he only told the governor not to abandon the people who “worked hard” for him to reach that position.
Mr Fubara and Mr Wike have been at loggerheads over control of the political structure in Rivers.
The political feud between the two former allies has split the Rivers House of Assembly into two factions, with 27 members loyal to Mr. Wike while three others are loyal to Governor Fubara.
Rivers currently has two chambers of assembly and each faction holds parallel sessions.
The political crisis that gripped the state three months ago escalated into violence and loss of life when Wike's supporters took to the streets to protest against the dissolution of the former elected officials of the local government by Governor Fubara.
The council's former elected officials, who are loyal to Mr Wike, were replaced by a caretaker committee, following the end of their three-year term.
