A lady named Kafilat AbdulLateef went to a special place called Area Court in Ilorin, Kwara State, to talk about her marriage. She married Bukoye Abdullateef just one year ago.
Kafilat lives at 101, Abisam Area, Offa, in Kwara. She told the court that she no longer wants to be married because she feels her husband doesn’t love or care for her.
She asked for a divorce, which means she wants to end her marriage. Kafilat also wants to keep their only child with her and is asking for a monthly payment of N50,000 to help take care of the child.
On the other hand, Bukoye, her husband, said he still wants to stay married and doesn’t want to separate from her.
The judge in charge, Judge Toyin Aluko, talked about how it is sad to see young married couples think about divorce so early in their marriage.
Judge Aluko encouraged Kafilat and Bukoye to try to understand each other better and to find ways to live together happily.
The judge decided that they would talk more about this on January 14, hoping they can find a way to solve their problems.
