Maureen Esisi, the ex-wife of Nollywood actor Blossom Chukwujekwu, has made a shocking revelation. Even though her marriage ended in 2019, she insists that they are “technically” still married.

Blossom Chukwujekwu and Maureen Esisi got married in 2015, capturing the hearts of fans and the entertainment industry. However, their relationship took a surprising turn and culminated in a highly publicized breakup in 2019.

In May 2022, Chukwujekwu moved on with his life and held a traditional wedding with Winifred Akhuemokhan in Benin City, Edo State.

The couple followed with a white wedding in June at Christ Embassy Church in Lagos, officiated by the church’s founder, Pastor Chris Oyakhilome.

However, in a recent episode of ‘The House Chronicles’ podcast, Esisi maintained that their divorce was never legally finalized.

She maintains that they were not officially divorced, as she did not sign any legal documents.

Esisi accused his former in-laws of encouraging his separation despite previously advising him not to leave the union.

She said: “I would call his mother and she would explain why we can’t get a divorce. She would say: ‘That [divorce] It is not from the Lord. Don’t worry, it will get better.’ And then, magically, he said she was done. And the same with you [in-laws] That’s what I told myself every year I stayed, how come your son comes up to you and tells you it’s over, and surprisingly, you throw God out of the way?

“My separation happened long before it became public. Books don’t divorce me. Technically, we’re still married. When you say you’re divorced, you’ve signed papers, right? Our marriage ended long before it became public. All I did was defend him, and I wasn’t defending him because I wanted the marriage to work. But regardless of everything that happened, I will never stop saying that he is a good person.”

Nigerian fashion designer and social media influencer, Ms. Esisi continues to engage with her audience about her experiences and perspectives on marriage. At the same time, her ex-husband remains silent on the matter.
