The Labor Party (LP) presidential candidate in the 2023 elections, Peter Obi, has stated that his visit to former Head of State, Ibrahim Babangida, was to ask for his invaluable advice and words of wisdom.
The former governor of Anambra State revealed this in a mail in your X account on Thursday.
Providing details of the meeting, Obi revealed that the visit to the elder statesman at his residence in Minna, Niger State, offered him the opportunity to exchange views on national issues with Babangida.
Describing Babangida as a father figure, Obi added that he also used the occasion to wish him a happy new year.
Captioning a photograph taken with the former military leader, he wrote: “From Jigawa State, I traveled to Minna, Niger State to visit a father figure, elder statesman and leader, former military president, General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida , at his residence in Minna, Niger State. The visit was an opportunity to wish him a happy New Year and exchange views on national issues.
“General Babangida's wisdom and insights continue to be very important and I always deeply appreciate the opportunity to visit him and hear his invaluable advice and wise words. A new Nigeria is possible.”
