The former governor of the state of Jigawa and the Popular Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Sule Lick, has responded to the former governor of the state of Kaduna, Malam Nasir El-Rufai, for his call to opposition politicians to join the Social Democratic Party (SDP), declaring that they have no interest in doing so.
El-Rufai, who recently announced his desertion of the Congress of all progressives (APC) to the SDP, urged opposition leaders, including Atiku Abubakar, Peter Obi, Rotimi Amachi and Rauf Aregbesola, to join him in his new political movement.
However, Sule Lamido, former governor of the state of Jigawa, and a presidential hope in an interview with BBC dismissed El-Rufai's invitation to the members of the opposition, questioning their political ideology and commitment to national development.
“With due respect, how do we wait for us in PDP and join another party? The PDP we built is the same party that did who it is today. How can a grandson claim that his grandfather knows nothing? He said lick.

He recalled that the-Rufai declared that there were no political elders in Nigeria, insisting that he and his allies were the true power corridors.
“But now he says he advised Buhari. If he really had the power that once he boasted, why did he have to find Buhari's advice? “Lick asked.
The former governor emphasized that, despite the internal challenges of the PDP, he was still his political home.
“If PDP is fighting today, it is still the party that nurtured El-Rufai. If he affirms that PDP is dead, then he must remember that it is the party that gave him his political base. Whatever he has achieved today, PDP made it possible. “
Lick argued that if I had any intention to leave PDP, it would have done it in 2014 when APC was formed.
“If I did not join APC in 2014 when they invited me, and left PDP for anger, why do they now leave APC? What has done APC? asked.
He argued that governance should not be driven by emotions or personal grudges.
“Leadership is about patience, forecast and work for the peace of people and the nation. If emotions allow their decisions, it will never lead objectively. ”
He stressed that if the objective is to eliminate President Bola Tinubu, he should not be based on personal complaints but in national interest.
“We must not fight Tinubu just because we are angry with him or looking for revenge. Leadership should be trying to prioritize the welfare of the country instead of personal emotions. “
Lamido concluded urging politicians to focus on strengthening the country instead of making decisions based on resentment.
