Video: Some women join the film industry with the intention of sleeping to stardom – Jide Kosoko

The veteran actor, Prince Jide Kosoko, has intervened in the issue of sex for the roles in Nollywood, stating that some women deliberately enter the film industry with the intention of taking advantage of sexual relations to reach fame.

Speaking during an appearance in the latest edition of the Honest Bunch podcast, Kosoko ruled out the idea that producers or directors impose sexual demands in the industry.

He explained that while such situations may occur, some aspiring actresses also voluntarily adopt strategies as a means to advance their careers.

In addition, he argued that no one can be forced to any form of sexual exchange, noting that people have the power to reject offers with which they do not feel comfortable.

According to him, the narrative about sex by roles is often exaggerated, since there are cases in which people enter the industry that already plan to use such means to make a name.

He said: “If I said that I need you to come and hot my bed so that I can give you this role, and you said: no, you do not want, they cannot force you to do it. If someone presents something for you and you are not interested, say no. All these sexual things, forget it.
