UNN Dean Released from Abduction as Police Prevent Another Kidnap Attempt

Must Read

Great news! A teacher from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, named Professor Oguejiofo Ujam is now free again after being kidnapped.

Professor Ujam was taken while traveling on a road called Ugwuogo-Opi Nsukka Road. But guess what? He managed to get away from the people who took him near a place called Ninth Mile.

The next day, the police stopped another kidnapping from happening on this same road. That’s pretty brave, right?

A police officer, DSP Daniel Ndukwe, who talks about what the police are doing, shared this news with reporters. He said, “On October 28, 2024, our police team stopped people who were trying to kidnap someone at night. This happened on a part of the road called Neke-Uno on Enugu/Opi/Nsukka Road.”

“It was a tough fight, and the bad guys got scared and ran away! They even left behind a big gun, some bullets, and other things,” DSP Ndukwe explained.

Because of the police effort, Professor Ujam managed to run away from the people who kidnapped him a few days earlier—it was on October 26, 2024.

To make sure everyone is safe while traveling, the big boss of the police, Commissioner Kanayo Uzuegbu, is sending more police officers to help patrol the Enugu/Opi/Nsukka Road. Isn’t it nice to know that they’re working hard to keep everyone safe?

Also, the police said some reports were not true. There were stories about an officer from the Federal Road Safety Corps being kidnapped while traveling from Benue State, but the police said nothing like that happened in Enugu State.
