The Labour Party (LP) candidate for Abakaliki/Izzi Federal Constituency in the 2023 general elections, Ezeh Emmanuel Eze, said that Peter Obi, the party’s presidential candidate, is now considered the leader of all black people. This is because the Labour Party won a recent election in the United Kingdom (UK).
Eze explained that before the UK election, Obi told people to vote for the Labour Party. They listened to him and the party won a big victory.
Eze spoke about this during a big meeting at the Citi Hub Event Centre in Abakaliki over the weekend. He said people from Nigeria, Africa, and the world support Obi, not just those in a few places.
“I’m proud to have a leader like Obi. In the UK election, we saw how he made a statement and told people to vote for the Labour Party. The result was that the party won everywhere,” Eze said.
He also called Obi a leader for all black people, not just for Nigeria.
Eze further said that Obi is the leader of the Labour Party in Nigeria and believes that Obi will guide Nigerians to a better future.
He praised party members in Ebonyi State and said that they are committed to solving the party’s national leadership issues.
He also mentioned that the Labour Party in Ebonyi State is now united and will keep working together to create a better Nigeria by 2027.
“In Ebonyi State, we don’t have any groups fighting within the Labour Party. The party has a strong belief system, and we have not lost any members. Everyone still supports the party,” he said.
He highlighted that over 5,000 people came to the meeting. “The people want change and we are ready to make a new Nigeria,” he added.
During the meeting, all LP members agreed that Chief Fidelis Nwankwo, former Minister of State for Health, should be the leader of the party in Ebonyi State.
