Two Dead as Police Thwart Boko Haram Attack in Borno

The Borno Police Command has reported that two people sadly died when their officers stopped an attack by Boko Haram terrorists at Jakana Police Barracks in Konduga Local Government Area of the State.

The command’s spokesperson, ASP Nahun Daso, shared the news in a statement from Maiduguri on Sunday. He said the attack happened early that morning.

He mentioned that the quick action of the Police Mobile Force Officers at the Jakana Police Station forced the attackers to retreat, stopping them from taking over the police site.

Daso said, sadly, two people died in the shootout.

“One of them was a police officer and the other was a civilian woman. Also, a police patrol car was burned during the attack.

“The Commissioner of Police in Borno, CP Yusufu Lawal, has sent his sympathy to the families of those who lost their lives and assured that a thorough investigation is underway.

“He also said that security has been increased to stop any more attacks,” he added.
