Must Read

The soldiers from the 6 Brigade in the Nigerian Army and Sector 3 Operation Whirl Stroke have once again broken up a dangerous group believed to cause lots of trouble in Karim-Lamido Local Government Council, Taraba State.

On Wednesday, Captain Oni Olubodunde, who speaks for the 6 Brigade, shared with journalists that the operation led to the capture of two suspects.

He explained, “With good information, our troops planned and carried out an operation against the criminal group. This group was involved in many bad activities like armed robbery, kidnapping, and selling illegal weapons.

“Because of our brave troops, we arrested an important gang member called ‘Malam Ali Tambaya’ in Wanzani village, Karim Lamido council.”

During the operation, the soldiers found an AK-47 rifle and 42 bullets.

When asked questions, Ali Tambaya admitted that he bought the rifle from a man named Alhaji Dandi for N500,000 about five years ago. He said he bought the bullets for N1,000 each.

Tambaya also said that Alhaji Kiwo gave him 38 of the 42 bullets to keep safe.

The soldiers quickly moved to catch the others and arrested Alhaji Dandi. They are still searching for Alhaji Kiwo.

Brigadier Kingsley Uwa, the commander of the brigade, praised the soldiers for their hard work. He promised they will continue to fight against criminals in Taraba State.

He asked the people to keep giving useful information to the security forces, as working together is key to achieving peace.
