Trabzonspor’s coach, Abdullahi Avci, says the team is still trying very hard to get Paul Onuachu from Southampton.
Last season, Onuachu played for Trabzonspor on loan.
The Nigerian player was great, scoring 15 goals for Trabzonspor, who were once champions of Turkey’s Super Lig.
Trabzonspor wants to keep him for good, but they cannot pay what Southampton wants.
Southampton is asking for £15 million, which is the same amount they paid to KRC Genk for Onuachu in January 2023.
“We talked to Paul Onuachu 3-4 days ago; he also wants to be with us,” Avci told Sabah Spor. “Right now, I cannot say if it will happen or not. Our president is working hard on this. We need to wait and see.”
