A 5-year-old girl named Moriana Maruf has sadly died after being bitten by a dog.
DAILY POST learned that the dog attacked Moriana in the Adagbada area of Apete, a place near Ibadan in Oyo State. This happened early in the morning around 7:40 am on Sunday.
It was discovered that the dog belonged to a woman named Mrs. Eunice Kolade.
On Tuesday, it was reported that Moriana was first taken to a local private hospital. However, she needed more help, so they moved her to a bigger hospital called University College Hospital (UCH) in Ibadan.
Sadly, Moriana did not make it and passed away.
One of the people living nearby, Mr. Sunday, killed the dog after it attacked Moriana.
A person who wished to keep their identity secret said, “The dog hurt the little girl very badly. She was taken to a small hospital first, but they moved her to UCH. She couldn’t survive the attack.”
The state’s police spokesperson, Adewale Osifeso, said on Wednesday that they are still looking into what happened.
Osifeso said briefly to DAILY POST, “Investigation is ongoing, sir.”
