In the town of Ifetedo, in the Ife South Local Government Area of Osun State, a woman sadly died when a building fell down.

We learned that the woman’s name was Idowu. She died around 5:30 PM on Tuesday when the weak building collapsed.

The building fell in the Omiloode area of the town, which made people very scared.

People who saw what happened said the building suddenly fell down. Idowu was the only person inside and got trapped.

Although the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) and community members tried to save her, they found her dead under the broken pieces of the building.

Adeleke Kehinde, the spokesperson for the Osun State NSCDC, confirmed the sad news.

Adeleke said the security team quickly made sure the area was safe and closed off.

Adeleke explained that the building was old and in bad shape, which is why it fell.

“An old, abandoned building on Omiloode Street in Ifetedo fell down and killed Mrs. Idowu, who was near when it happened. This tragic event occurred around 5:30 PM on Tuesday,” Adeleke said.

“Officers from NSCDC Ife South Division rushed to help when they heard the news. Sadly, the woman had already died. They found her dead under the rubble and closed off the site right away,” she added.

Adeleke also mentioned that they are now investigating to find out why this tragic event happened.
