Nigeria’s president, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, is set to attend the final of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations as the Super Eagles take on hosts Cote d’Ivoire.

The President of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), Patrice Motsepe, announced this during a press conference at the Palace de la Culture in Abidjan.

In response to a question about when Africa can host the World Cup again, Motsepe suggested that Nigeria should put in a bid and mentioned that President Tinubu would be in attendance at the final.

He also expressed his intention to have a conversation with the Nigerian president about the possibility of hosting the World Cup. It’s worth noting that Nigeria’s vice president, Kashim Shettima, also attended the semi-finals when the Super Eagles defeated Bafana Bafana of South Africa.

The final between Nigeria and Cote d’Ivoire will take place at the Alassane Quattara Stadium in Abidjan and is scheduled to kick off at 9pm local time. This highly anticipated encounter is expected to draw a lot of attention and excitement.
