President Bola Tinubu has happily welcomed Anyim Pius Anyim, the former Senate President, to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
In simple words, Anyim used to work for President Goodluck Jonathan as the Secretary to the Government. He was in a different political party, called the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), but he left them recently.
Imagine you have two friends, and you decide to leave one friend to join another. That’s what Anyim did. He left PDP to join APC. Now, two important people, Hope Uzodinma, the Governor of Imo State, and Francis Nwifuru, the Governor of Ebonyi State, took him to meet President Tinubu in Abuja. It’s like taking a new friend to meet the leader of the group.
Back in March 2023, Anyim had already shown he was thinking about leaving PDP. He told his friends in Ebonyi to support Nwifuru, who was the APC candidate for Governor. It was like saying, “Hey, let’s support our new friend!”
After talking to the President, Anyim told the news reporters that he joined the APC because he wants to help make the country better. It’s like saying he joined a new team to help them win and do great things for everyone.
