Tinubu expresses condolences to Jigawa government over the death of his mother

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has expressed his condolences to Governor Umar Namadi of Jigawa State on the demise of his beloved mother, Hajiya Maryam Namadi.

In a statement conveying President Tinubu's condolences, Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President (Information and Strategy), reported that Hajiya Maryam, who was the matriarch of the family, passed away on Wednesday, December 25.

She has been buried according to Islamic rites in the governor's hometown of Kafin Hausa.

President Tinubu commended the deceased's community service and strongly encouraged her family to immortalize her by continuing their philanthropic initiatives, thereby ensuring that her legacy lives on.

In a comforting message, the President urged Governor Namadi and other surviving family members of the deceased to take solace in the enduring good name she left behind.

In a post on his verified X handle on Thursday, Governor Namadi announced the death of yet another member of his family.

The publication @uanamadi stated: “To Allah belongs what He has taken, and to Him belongs what He has given, and everything has a time appointed for Him.

“It is with great sadness and complete submission to the will of Almighty Allah, His Excellency Mallam Umar Namadi, Governor of Jigawa State, announces the passing away of yet another member of his family – his beloved son Abdulwahab Umar Namadi.”
