In Ogun State, the police have caught three people for stealing motorcycles in different places around the state.
The people caught are Abibu Yusuf, who is 23 years old, Sanni Saidu, who is 30 years old, and Adejumo Michael.
Reports have shown that there are more and more motorcycles being stolen in this area.
The police spokesperson, Omolola Odutola, told us that Yusuf and Saidu were caught because they allegedly took a motorcycle worth one million naira. This motorcycle belonged to a person named Daniel Michael and another belongs to Majek Obasanjo, both near Fidiwo in the Owode Egba area.
When the police caught these people, they found two big knives with them.
A man named Daniel Michael said that on October 2nd, he was in the Owode Egba area of Ogun State when two men hurt him and took his motorcycle that had a plate number L358. His motorcycle is worth a lot of money, about one million naira!
Another person, Majek Obasanjo, also told a similar story. He said he was robbed in the same area. Even though he tried to stop them, the bad guys got away with his motorcycle and mobile phone.
“Some people who saw the bad guys running away said they were Abibu Yusuf and Sanni Saidu, and both were caught,” Odutola said.
Another person, Adejumo Micheal, was caught on a Sunday after he took a motorcycle from a church. This motorcycle belonged to Folorunsho Jamiu, and it was taken in the Oke-Itoku area.
Folorunsho Jamiu, along with a friend, reported that the motorcycle, which was red and had a number plate LSD 443 QH, was taken while it was parked at a church. The police then went to where the theft happened and found the motorcycle with Adejumo Micheal, who was trying to get away.
The police spokesperson said they are looking into these cases more and promised to work hard to keep the state safe from people who steal motorcycles.
