The Kebbi State Police command arrested a Rabiu Muhammad in relation to the murder of a 18 -year -old commercial motorcycle operator, Dahiru Tanimu. The victim's body was discovered in a bush in the town of Kawara, located in the area of the local government of Maiyama.
According to a statement issued on Monday by the Police Public Relations officer, CSP Nafiu Abubakar, the incident came to light after the father of the deceased informed the police station of the Maiyama Division that his son had not returned home after leaving for his daily commercial activity.
After the complaint, a police team was deployed to investigate the matter. His efforts led to Muhammad's arrest, who, according to the reports, was found in possession of the victim's stolen motorcycle.
Since then, Police Commissioner Bello M. Sani ordered that the case be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for thorough investigation.
He reaffirmed the commitment of the command to ensure that justice is served and praised the officers involved in the rapid apprehension of the suspect.
“We praise the tireless efforts of our officers in the countryside to heat the criminal elements that lurk in the state,” said Sani.
In addition, he urged Kebbi's residents to continue cooperating with the law enforcement agencies providing timely and precise information that could help prevent and resolve crimes.
The investigations are ongoing, and the police have assured the public to follow all legal procedures to guarantee responsibility in the case.
