Famous Nigerian actor, Patrick Doyle, recently spoke out about the popular phrase “I am a Chosen,” often said by members of The Lord’s Chosen Charismatic Revival Ministries.
He shared his thoughts on Facebook, saying that he thinks this phrase does not match Christian beliefs.
“When people say ‘I am a Chosen,’ it should not be linked to the Christian faith,” Doyle said.
According to him, the members of this group focus on their leader rather than Jesus. He believes the phrase doesn’t talk about Jesus at all.
He mentioned that if people think this phrase honors Jesus, it actually makes fun of their faith.
“When bloggers and content creators use ‘I am a Chosen,’ they are not making fun of Christianity but rather the group and its leader,” Doyle added.
A few days ago, actor IK Ogbonna suggested that the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) should look into false miracles in churches.
Actress Kemi Lala Akindoju also criticized the church’s beliefs and practices.
CAN responded to the trending phrase and a viral story of a church member who claimed an angel helped her during an exam. CAN did not agree with this story and spoke against it.
