The Muslim community in the Senatorial District of South Kaduna has praised Senator Sunday Katung, the senator who represents the district, for its inclusive empowerment programs.
They gave their position to meet during a press conference in Kaduna led by the secretary general of the Kaduna chapter of southern Jama'atu Nasril Islam (JNI), Iliya Musa, on Friday.
The community described the legislator as a detailed leader who does not discriminate against Muslims in the area.
To this end, they also dissipated the rumor making the round that the Muslim community in southern Kaduna is not carried.
According to the leader of Jni, “Muslims have benefited immensely from Katung's inclusive empowerment programs. We are members of the Southern Muslim community of Kaduna under the skillful leadership of Alhaji Ali Fadi.
“We are addressing this press conference to tell him that we the Muslim community in southern Kaduna, we are appreciating God for giving us Senator Sunday Katung.
“Muslims in southern Kaduna appreciate him to take us in whatever he is doing as a representative of all.
“It reaches us with its empowerment programs, sometimes through JNI, sometimes through our Muslim politicians. He empowers people without discrimination. ”
According to Muse, Muslims are beneficiaries of palliative empowerment and other senators.
For example, he said: “We are beneficiaries of their agricultural training program, after which each participant N50,000 gave.
“During the outbreak of deadly dipteriadise in a Muslim community in Kafanche in 2024, Katung, along with other interested parties, gave drastic steps to stop their propagation.
He added that when ginger farmers suffered losses in 2024, Katun's intervention helped cushion the effect of their losses.
Musa said: “As the fasting period approaches, Katung has asked the Muslim community to provide a help proposal to guarantee the periods of Ramadán and Salah without hook.
“We are praying so that God continues to strengthen and protect him to achieve his goals. Criticisms against Katung have no foundation.
“We are in a political era and whatever you do, people will still criticize you.
“All we are saying is that the majority of the members of the Muslim community in southern Kaduna are happy with the way the senator takes them in their activities.
“We are asking those who criticize the senator who, as a Muslim, fear the Almighty God and always tell the truth,” he said.
Previously, other Muslim leaders in southern Kaduna also commented on their populist programs in the area that discard the insinuations against him.
Alhaji Ali Fadi, who was the leader of the entourage, Alhaji. Wada Nas, Datti Hassan and Inuwa Yahaya unanimously approved a vote of confidence in Senator Katung and described their love and concern for Muslims as unprecedented. According to them, the legislator created an office for Muslims where he appointed a special advisor on Muslim affairs.
