An agricultural guard in the area of the local government of UDU of the State of Delta, Omadide Peter, has been killed and beheaded.
His assailants threw their headless body in the Erhiephihor community.
The fishermen on a fishing trip then recovered their heads cut from the Erhiephor Community River in the UDU local government area.
According to the sources, Peter, father of one in about 30 years, was allegedly killed to pray too much at midnight.
“Before moving from Otu-Jeremi to Ovwodakpokpor, their neighbors complained that their prayers were bothering them and were tired of their midnight prayers.
“Recently he moved from Otu-Jeremi to his current place in Morada, Ovwodakpokpor, before his unfortunate death,” said a source.
A conflicting account said that Peter really lived in the neighboring community of Erhiephihor in Udu Lga.
Although the details are still clear, the police arrested three people in relation to the victim's murder and decapitation.
When he contacted, Erhiephihor's general, Mr. Daniel Omovwightren, declared: “The incident did not happen in Erhiephihor but in Ovwodakpokpor. After he was killed, his body was abandoned in our community, Erhiephihor.
“After the incident, both communities took action. Fortunately, police groups and guards were invited, and arrested some people, around three of them.
“The police took the body to the morgue, and those arrested were initially arrested at the Ovwian police station. However, until Thursday, the General of Communities and the Police transferred the suspects to Asaba.
“In addition, the deceased's head was not recovered from the Erhiephihor community but from the Ovwodakpokpor River. The arrested suspects are from Ovwodokpokpor, and one of them is called Mathew.
“Through the efforts of the general generals of Erhiephihor and Ovwodakpokpor, three suspects have been arrested, one of Ovwodokpokpor, one Ijaw and a Yoruba,” he said.
When it was contacted, the Public Relations officer of the State Police of Delta, Spafe Bright, confirmed the incident.
