The installation of nouns, currently under construction, will have eight classrooms equipped with modern educational tools, including computers, to facilitate learning for inmates.
Education remains a crucial component of rehabilitation, and Tantita's investment in the correctional installation is aligned with broader efforts to transform inmates into productive members of society.
The Correctional Center, already approved as WAEC/NECO exam center, has expanded its academic offers to include cognitive placement certificate exams of secondary school/cognitive placement.
Tantita's intervention will even more improve these opportunities, providing inmates access to higher education and skill development.
Beyond education, company participation reflects its broader vision of social reform.
The project complements the rehabilitation efforts of existing inmates headed by religious organizations such as the cathedral of the Sacred Heart, the Diocese of Warri of the Catholic Church, the prisons Fellowship Nigeria, the Embassy of Christ and the redeemed Christian Church of God, all of which provide spiritual orientation and advice to the children.
In addition to supporting education, the spirit of Tantita's corporate social responsibility aligns with medical care improvements in the correctional center.
Recently, the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) donated essential medical supplies, including medications, mattresses and mats.
The installation also houses an insulation unit for inmates with tuberculosis and HIV, which have benefited from better medical care.
