Soldiers Allegedly Beat Nasarawa Polytechnic Student to Death Over Suspected Cult Involvement

Must Read

Sure, I can rewrite the blog post in a simpler way so everyone can understand it easily. Here’s a more straightforward version:

Some Nigerian Army officers are accused of killing Terhile Timothy Achinya. Achinya was a student studying Mechanical Engineering at Isa Mustapha Agwai Polytechnic in Lafia, Nasarawa State. The officers thought he was part of a cult.

Reports say that the soldiers beat Achinya until he died because they believed he was involved in cult activities.

Nurudeen Mu’azu Maifata, the Acting Rector of the school, asked everyone to stay calm after Achinya's death.

Jacob John Mutuwa, the President of the Students Union Government at the polytechnic, told the news about the incident.

Mutuwa explained that the problem started when another student, Samuel Ejembi, told some soldiers in Lafia about alleged cult members among the students.

The soldiers then went to a place called Eji World, near the campus, and arrested several students, including Achinya.

Both the informant and the accused students were taken by the soldiers.

Mutuwa shared that Achinya died after the soldiers reportedly tortured him. His body was later taken to Dalhatu Araf Specialist Hospital in Lafia.

Even after this sad event, Mutuwa praised the students for staying peaceful. He also said that legal steps are being taken against those responsible for Achinya’s death.

The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) is also asking for justice. Comrade Daniel Friday Egga, Coordinator of NANS Zone C, called on the state government and others to help seek justice for Achinya and his family.

NANS claims that soldiers from the 123 Special Force Battalion were involved in the killing and wants quick action from military leaders.

DSP Ramhan Nansel, Police Public Relations Officer for Nasarawa State Command, confirmed that an investigation is now happening.

I hope this makes it more understandable!
