Six Injured in Niger Communal Land Dispute

Six people got hurt in a big fight in Dakumi and Gbage, two groups in a place called Ebbo Gbachinku Ward in Lapai. This is in Niger State.

Two of the hurt people are now in a hospital, but we don’t know which one.

People who saw the fight said it was very bad. They used knives, guns, rocks, and other dangerous things to hurt each other.

They are asking the state governor, Mohammed Umar Bago, and the police boss, CP Ebenezer Shawulu Danmamman, to help stop the fighting before it gets worse.

DAILY POST learned that the local leader of Ebbo Gbachinku visited both groups to find out why they were fighting. He will tell the Emir of Lapai, Alhaji Umar Bago III, what he found out.

There is already a court case about a fight over land.

The police spokesperson in Niger State, SP Wasiu Abiodun, said they are looking into what happened. They are trying to catch the people who started the fight.

He also said there was another fight between two villages called Katakpa and Elegi, also in Lapai, because of a land issue. Four people got hurt and went to Gulu General Hospital.

Two people have been arrested for this second fight.
