Lilly Allen Returns Puppy After It Eats Passports

British singer Lilly Allen had to give back a puppy she adopted because it ate her family’s passports.

In her podcast called ‘Miss Her?’, Lilly Allen shared that she adopted a puppy named Mary in 2020, during the COVID-19 pandemic. Unfortunately, Mary chewed up her passport and the passports of her two daughters, Ethel, who is 12 years old, and Marnie, who is 11 years old.

Lilly and her husband, David Harbour, who is also an actor, are thinking about adopting another puppy. She explained, “We adopted a dog, but she ate my passport and my daughters’ passports. Each passport also had our visas in them, and it cost a lot of money to replace them during COVID times.”

She added, “The dog’s mischief caused a big problem. My children’s dad lives in England, and we couldn’t visit him for around four to five months because the dog chewed up our passports. I felt so upset. I thought, ‘This dog has caused so much trouble.'”

She continued, “Mary didn’t just chew passports; she was generally a naughty puppy. I really tried to make it work, but it just didn’t. Finally, the passports were the last straw for me.”

Lilly Allen and David Harbour live in New York now. Lilly’s two kids are from her first marriage to Sam Cooper, who lives in the UK.

Animal rights group PETA wrote a letter to Lilly Allen, asking her not to adopt another pet. PETA said that dogs are not objects to be given back when they become troublesome.
