Senate Deputy Minority Leader Senator Lere Oyewumi at the weekend commissioned the reconstruction of an educational facility consisting of six blocks of 18 classrooms, a library, corridors, a laboratory, teachers' rooms, the principal's office and a motorized well, with the objective of ensuring that he would do everything possible to make education a milestone in the OSUN West senatorial district.
Speaking at the launch of the projects held at St. David's Anglican Secondary School, Ode Omu, the distinguished senator, described education as the key to success, which should not be approached lightly.
“The gesture was aimed at creating an environment conducive to learning in public schools. He noted that the facilities were built to high standards for the benefit of young students from rural communities.
Oyewumi, who said similar facilities had been provided at Odeyinka Community Secondary School, assured that no effort would be spared to improve the academic environment in public schools within his senatorial district.
He therefore pledged to encourage and improve the lives and well-being of the people in his constituency, through the provision of quality education and other facilities that can facilitate studies and learning.
Senator Oyewumi, who stated that he will not relent in upholding the three domains in the field of education, which are psychomotor, cognitive and affective, to ensure that key knowledge is imparted to students, called on students and parents to Also cooperate with him, to make his educational programs for everyone and everyone becomes virile.

He said: “We must all join the government in funding education by investing in facilities in public schools. The government must do more and the current Osun administration is making significant efforts to improve all sectors.”
Additionally, classrooms, a well, toilets and a generator were constructed and rehabilitated at the Community Secondary School, Odeyinka, Ikire, in Irewole Local Government, a project facilitated by Senator Lere Oyewumi.
In their remarks, the principals of St. David's Anglican Primary School, Ode Omu, and Community Secondary School, Odeyinka, Ikire, expressed their gratitude to Senator Oyewumi for his generous contribution to the schools.
According to them, the new facilities would greatly improve the learning experience of students and provide them with access to modern educational resources.
“We are deeply grateful to Senator Oyewumi for his support. “This new facility will provide our students with a conducive learning environment and access to modern resources that will help them excel academically,” the principals said.
Osun PDP Chairman, Hon. Sunday Bisi, in his speech during the inauguration ceremony, emphasized the importance of education as a cornerstone for individual and social development. He stated that the project was part of Senator Lere Oyewumi's commitment to provide quality education to children in his constituency. He also highlighted the importance of providing modern and conducive learning environments for students.
