Arsenal player, Bukayo Saka, gave a big thumbs up to his friend Cole Palmer. Why? Because Cole won a special prize called England Player of the Year!
Cole got this award instead of Bukayo and another great player named Jude Bellingham.
Bukayo said, “Hats off to Cole for being the Player of the Year. This is such a big deal, and he really earned it. When they told him he won, I was there. His eyes got so big, and his mouth was wide open. He was so surprised!”
Even though Cole did not start any games in Euro 2024, he still scored his first goal for England when they played against Spain. England lost 2-1, but Cole’s goal was special!
Cole also played a big part in helping Ollie Watkins score the winning goal in the semifinal game against the Netherlands. That was a super important goal!
