No less than 14 people have died in traffic accidents in the state of Edo in March 2025.
Cyril Mathew, the commander of the state sector, of the Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, revealed this in an interview with journalists on Monday in Benin City.
Mathew said the deaths occurred in 17 traffic accidents within the period under review throughout the state.

The commander of the state sector attributed the accident to the brake failure, excessive spending, dangerous driving and the use of the violation of the telephone route, among others by drivers throughout the state.
However, he warned motorists against excessive speed, drunk driving, night driving and the use of the phone to reach their destination safely.
He said that the command has carried out many awareness campaigns and educated motorists and other road users about the need to absorb a security culture along the way and save lives.
