Rivers Crisis: Coalition Denounces Bomb Attacks on Political Opponents

Must Read

The group called Coalition for Human Rights Advocacy in Africa (CHRADA) is very upset about the recent attack on the office of the Action People’s Party (APP) in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

On Monday, there was a big explosion because someone set off a homemade bomb at the APP office in Rivers State. This explosion caused a lot of damage to the building.

The Coalition, led by Dr. Joyce Anderson Idakwo, said this act was done to mess up the local government elections and hurt democracy.

CHRADA is very worried about people using bombs and explosives against their political enemies in the state. They believe this shows that the attackers do not care about people’s lives and are ready to use violence to reach their goals.

“Using bombs and explosives is very wrong and breaks human rights and international laws,” says CHRADA.

They are very concerned about the increasing violence in Rivers State and how it is affecting everyday people. Especially women and children are in more danger because of these attacks, and we need to protect them.

CHRADA urges the Nigerian government to act quickly to protect its people and make sure those responsible are punished.

Reports indicate that the ongoing political problems in Rivers State have led to multiple attacks by unknown individuals.

Supporters of the current Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, and those of the previous Governor, Nyesom Wike, have fought several times during political events.
