Rivers Crisis: APC Criticizes Okocha, Claims Solidarity Protest is a Bid to Curry Favor from Tinubu

Must Read

Darlington Nwauju, who speaks for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State, told Tony Okocha, the recently fired leader of the party’s caretaker committee, to stop using protests to confuse people.

Nwauju said this after Okocha led a protest in Port Harcourt to show support for President Bola Tinubu and the minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike.

On his Facebook page, Nwauju wrote that Okocha doesn’t have the right to lead such protests or rallies. He called Okocha’s actions misguided and dishonest.

Nwauju reminded everyone about the court’s decision that led to Okocha’s removal. He said he believes in God’s plan and that no amount of fighting can change what is meant to be.

Nwauju accused Okocha of using his support for President Bola Tinubu to try to gain personal political power and sympathy.

He urged everyone who supports democracy and the law to respect the court’s decision, although they have the right to appeal, even up to the Supreme Court.

Nwauju also pointed out that Okocha had previously gone to the same court to stop the APC from having candidates in the 2019 elections. Now, Okocha is against the same court.
