Rivers Conflict: Ugochinyere Calls for Justice for Wike’s Supporters

Must Read

A spokesperson for a group of opposition lawmakers, Mr. Ikenga Ugochinyere, wants the government to ensure that Mr. Nyesom Wike, the minister of the FCT, and his friends face the law. This is because they are accused of burning down a government building in Rivers State.

Recently, there was an election in a local government area, but it caused a lot of problems. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu was very worried when he heard that there were fires and explosions happening in that area.

He told all the people involved in politics to calm down and stop their supporters from doing bad things or causing damage.

On Tuesday, Mr. Ugochinyere praised the Governor of the state, Mr. Siminalayi Fubara, for starting an official investigation. He said that if Mr. Wike and his friends are guilty, they should be taken to court and punished.

Mr. Ugochinyere said, “I don’t understand why Mr. Wike is talking on TV and acting like he doesn’t know what happened. From what he is saying, it looks like he knows, and he could be involved.”

He continued, “The governor did a good job by starting the investigation. It doesn’t matter who you are; everyone must follow the rules. If Mr. Wike really helped to destroy part of the government, he should be punished in court.”

“Why are we making excuses for him? A whole government is not just one person’s property. The state did well to start this investigation.”

If anyone is responsible for burning a government building, the legal authorities should take them to court. If they can burn something in a local place, they might do it at state, federal, or even to our democracy.”

“The government needs to handle this problem very seriously because it could lead to bigger issues. People shouldn’t use their support for the president as a reason to do bad things.”
