A big decision is coming soon from a Rivers State High Court in Port Harcourt! On Monday, August 12, 2024, the court will tell us its decision on a case brought by some leaders of the All Progressives Congress, or APC. These leaders, headed by Emeka Beke, are unhappy with the top bosses of their party and a special group of seven people led by Tony Okocha.
The judge, named Justice Sika Aprioku, listened carefully to both sides during the last court meeting. After thinking about all the arguments and reading the final written pieces from the lawyers, the judge decided to give the decision on a date within two days.
In a special announcement, Justice Aprioku said the decision would be shared online at noon on August 12, 2024. He asked all the lawyers to be on time and mentioned that security around the court would be very tight.
Lawyer Sam Etetegwung, who is helping the sacked APC leaders, along with Banarth Ezemoye and Ezekiel Ubom, are asking the court to explain the APC rules and Nigerian law. They want to know if it was right to suspend them and start the new seven-man group led by Okocha.
In simple words, Emeka Beke and other APC leaders want to know if what happened to them was fair. The court’s decision will be very important for them and everyone in the APC in Rivers State. Let’s wait and see what the judge will decide!
