Chelsea legend, Frank Leboeuf, has criticized manager Enzo Maresca for their play style in a recent friendly match. Chelsea tied 2-2 with Wrexham during their first game of the US tour at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California.
Leboeuf spoke on ESPN about whether the decision to play out from the back was brave or foolish. He said, “When you make a mistake and give away a goal, it looks very silly. That’s certain.
“I’m not convinced, against what Enzo Maresca believes, that starting to play from the back guarantees scoring more goals than other methods.”
“I don’t like it much. I get that it helps to keep control of the ball and makes the opponent chase you, but it’s still risky,” he added.
