The kidnappers have kidnapped eight people, including a priestess and four local farmers, in Ohebe Orba in the UDENU local government area of the State of Enugu.
According to the Sahara reporters, the incident occurred on Wednesday night, when the priestess went to a river for rituals with three other worshipers.
Meanwhile, kidnappers have contacted the families of the victims, initially demanding a rescue of N50 million, but then reduced to N15 million.
This recent kidnapping occurs in the middle of the recent release of 15 people kidnapped in the settlement of the Ibagwa Agu farm in the area of the local government of Nsukka of the State of Enugu.
The 15 kidnapped were released on Thursday, April 17, 2025.
The gunmen suspected of being kidnappers had kidnapped 13 people, including Maurice Osmond, his son and another son, in the community of Ibagwa Agu in the area of the local government of Nsukka of the State on April 12, 2025.
The kidnappers demanded a rescue of N10 million each for the launch of the victims.
Chijinkem Ugwuanyi, a personality of the media of ENUGU, said on Facebook: “These photos here are some of the victims, including Maurice Osmond, who had returned home with his son for the transition exam to the high school of San Juan, was kidnapped by the road to Agu Ibagwa-Ani while heading to see his crazy people.”
The kidnapping series has caused concern among residents, and many requested greater security measures to avoid more incidents.
