Police Provide Latest Developments in Nasarawa Crime Reduction Campaign

The Nasarawa State Police have some good news about catching criminals and finding weapons.

On Tuesday, the Police Chief, CP Shehu Umar Nadada, told everyone about the police’s hard work.

CP Shehu said that the police did a great job. They caught many bad people and found weapons because the police officers worked very hard.

He explained what the police did. For example:

“On July 5, 2024, the police got good information and caught Julius Oseweya in Keana. He had a big gun called an AK-47, a magazine, and 15 bullets.

“Then, they found more bullets and magazines and caught Adamu Jibrin Ogu in Obi. They also caught Ibrahim Abdullahi Danladi.

“On July 29, 2024, the police stopped two men on motorcycles on Doma – Yelwa road. They found 164 bullets and other bad things. The men were Aliyu Haider Muhammed and Musa Ali.

“On July 26, 2024, a truck driver was robbed. The police acted quickly and caught three bad guys. They found 96 bags of rice and the stolen truck.

“On June 25, 2024, they caught Samaila Yunusa with an AK-47 and bullets.

CP Shehu said the police also caught many people involved in kidnappings in the areas of Doma, Lafia, and Keana.

He mentioned that on June 21, 2024, the police stopped a kidnapping. They caught three people. Another kidnapping gang was caught on June 28, 2024.

Also, on June 27, 2024, three kidnappers were caught planning to kidnap someone. And on June 19, 2024, the police stopped a motorcycle theft and got the bike back.

Lastly, on July 28, 2024, five people were arrested after a suspect detained by the Civilian Joint Task Force died.

Here’s a summary of what the police did: They caught 11 kidnappers, 6 arms dealers, 1 killer, 13 armed robbers. They found 5 guns, 1,080 bullets, 5 magazines, 20 wrappers, 4 motorcycles, 1 vehicle, 96 bags of rice, many electronics like laptops, TVs, and phones. In total, they caught 31 suspects.

CP Shehu Umar Nadada said the police will keep working hard to keep everyone safe.
