The police in Niger State had a big adventure when they stopped some bad guys who were stealing things from people. This happened in a place called Boyi, which is part of Gurara Local Government Area.
The police told everyone about this through a person who speaks for them, SP Wasiu Abiodun. He said that some robbers went into people’s houses near a toll-gate in Boyi and took their important things.
Here’s what happened: Early in the morning on October 28, 2024, around 5 am, the police got a phone call. The call said that, since about 2:30 am, some bad guys were taking things from people’s homes near the toll gate.
Right away, the special police team from a nearby station headed to the place where the robbers were and confronted them.
SP Wasiu Abiodun explained that the police surprised the robbers and had a shooting match with them. During this commotion, one of the bad guys was caught by the police, but the other robbers ran away, hurt by the gunshots.
The police found some of the weapons the robbers left behind: one AK-47 rifle, one pump-action gun, and two mobile phones, plus other things.
The police are still looking into all the things that happened and are trying their best to find the escaped robbers.
