The Akwa Ibom State Police Command has found the bodies of some marine hunters who worked for the Ministry of Internal Security and Inland Waterways. These hunters were kidnapped, killed, and buried by bad people in Unyenghe, a town in the Mbo Local Government Area of the state.

On Friday, the Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Timfon John, said that when the police dug up the bodies, they saw that the heads were cut off. This is very sad and shocking.

The police caught the people they think did it. They found out who the bad guys were by gathering information. The police also took 15 live bullets from them.

These are the names of the suspects: Anthony Archibong, who is 46 years old; Emmanuel Otoyo, who is 18 years old; Daniel Edet Okon, who is 26 years old; Eniete Harry Tom, who is 34 years old; Joseph Okon, who is 44 years old; and Chief Okon Asuquo Eteokpo, the village head of Utit Antai, who is believed to help and protect them spiritually.

The police found the bodies on Thursday, August 29, 2024, after they got a tip-off on August 18, 2024. Someone told the police that the marine hunters were buried in shallow graves in the community after they were kidnapped and killed.

The police want everyone to know that they are working very hard to keep the state safe from crime. They ask everyone to report if they see suspicious people or strange movements around them to the nearest police station. This way, we can all help to make our community safe.
