Police confirm death of man in Lagos brewery

The Lagos State Police Command has confirmed the sudden death of a man who went to watch television at a beer hall in the state.

This was confirmed to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) by the command’s Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, on Sunday.

Hundeyin said the owner of the brewery, whose name was not mentioned, reported the case to the Elere police division on Wednesday around 7:00 p.m.

He said the report revealed that a customer (now deceased), whose name and address are still unknown, aged in his 50s, arrived at the brewery located along the Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway at around 6:15 p.m.

He said the bar owner said the customer came into the open bar to sit and watch TV like any other customer, while some drank.

“Then it was observed that he was sleeping in the chair and an attempt was made to wake him up, but they discovered that he was lifeless.

“The place was visited by division detectives and the lifeless body was seen on the chair without any sign of violence.

“The body has been transferred to the mortuary of the Continental General Hospital Yaba, Lagos, for autopsy. Efforts are underway to locate his family,” she said.
