Police Arrest Two Individuals for Burying Man Alive in Kaduna

The Kaduna State Police have caught two people who buried a man alive in Zaria.

The police spokesman, ASP Mansir Hassan, told everyone about it on Thursday in Kaduna.

Hassan said they arrested the two people after a video showed a person buried with only his head out.

He explained that when the police saw the video, they worked hard to find the 20-year-old victim from Gauraki village and arrest those responsible. And they did.

The police found out that the victim and the two suspects worked together as laborers at a construction site in Abuja.

One suspect had a phone worth N35,000 that got stolen at their lodging place.

The suspects thought the victim stole the phone. So, they decided to use his daily pay to buy a new one.

Upset, the victim left Abuja and went to Zaria. But the suspects, who are brothers, followed him there.

“On August 10, they found him, took him to an unfinished building, and dug a hole like a grave.

“They tied his hands and legs, covered his mouth with cloth, put him in the hole, and covered him with dirt, leaving only his head out.

“He stayed like that until a passerby heard his cries and called for help. Then, he was saved,” Hassan said.

Hassan said the suspects admitted to what they did during questioning.

Police Commissioner Audu Ali advised people not to take the law into their own hands.

Hassan promised that the police would investigate the case carefully and handle it professionally.
