A police officer named ASP Owolabi has been arrested by the Lagos police for raping a 17-year-old girl in the Ojota area.
The DAILY POST reported that this officer did something very wrong to the girl inside his office at the Ojota Police Station.
Benjamin Hundeyin, who speaks for the Lagos State Police, said in a statement on his social media account that the Commissioner of Police has asked for a deep and detailed investigation into what happened.
He mentioned that they received a letter on July 1, 2024, from the Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency asking them to look into the matter right away.
Because of this letter, the Commissioner of Police immediately ordered an investigation.
“The police assure everyone that there will be no cover-up. This kind of bad behavior goes against the rules and ethics of the Nigeria Police Force.
“Commissioner Fayoade assures everyone that the officer will be punished according to police rules and the law if found guilty,” he said.
