Police arrest man over death of car mechanic in Abuja

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has arrested a suspect, Tijani Uzairu, for the murder of Chukwu Chukwudi, a mechanic in Kugbo area of ​​Abuja.

The Command’s spokesperson, Josephine Adeh, revealed this in a statement on Thursday.

The tragic incident, according to Adeh, occurred on Thursday around 4 pm.

He said there was an argument between four people led by Messrs. Uzairu and Chukwudi. She said that during the argument, one of them stabbed Chukwudi in the neck, which later led to his death.

“Preliminary investigation revealed that an argument ensued between them and the mechanic, following which one of the suspects stabbed Chukwu Chukwudi in the neck with a dagger,” he said.

In a quick response to the incident, police officers from Karu Division reached the spot while Chukwudi was immediately rushed to hospital for treatment.

“Upon receiving the complaint, police officers from the Karu Division moved to the place where they arrested Tijani Uzairu, who was accompanying the other suspects, and the victim was rushed to the hospital, where the doctor on duty confirmed his death,” he said. Adeh.

KUGBO MECHANICAL MURDER: FCT POLICE ARRESTS SUSPECT AND BEGINS INVESTIGATION INTO THE DEATH OF CHUKWU CHUKWUDI.

Following a tragic incident at Kugbo Mechanic, Abuja, today 20/06/2024 at about 04:00 pm, involving a mechanic and four other persons currently at large, including one Tijani Uzairu who brought a vehicle for repair.

Preliminary investigation revealed that an argument ensued between them and the mechanic, following which one of the suspects stabbed CHUKWU CHUKWUDI in the neck with a dagger. Upon receiving the complaint, police officers from the Karu Division moved to the place where a Tijani Uzairu who accompanied the other suspects was arrested and the victim was rushed to the hospital where the doctor on duty confirmed his death.
