The Police in Kogi State have caught four people because of the terrible killing of a girl student from Federal University, Lokoja (FUL).
The girl was only 17 years old and studied biology. Reports say a 21-year-old man kidnapped and killed her.
The police spokesperson, SP Williams Ovye-Aya, told the news reporters in Lokoja that this man worked with three of his friends to do this horrible act.
“The officers from the Nigeria Police Force, State Intelligence Department (SID), Kogi Command, arrested Jeremiah Paul-Awe from Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State on September 11,” he said.
Jeremiah is the main person behind this crime.
“We got a report from Stephen Oluwoyo, who said his daughter was missing, and he couldn’t contact her,”
The father also said he got a message from a stranger’s number saying his daughter was taken and they wanted money to release her,” the spokesperson explained.
The police quickly started working on the case using smart technology help from the Force Headquarters and found Jeremiah Paul-Awe on September 11.
SP Ovye-Aya said that after catching Jeremiah, he showed the police team where the girl’s body was. They took the body to Federal Teaching Hospital Lokoja for examination.
More investigating helped the police to catch three more suspects.
The main suspect told the police that two of the three caught were his friends who helped him with the crime.
SP Ovye-Aya mentioned that the four suspects will be brought to court once the police finish their investigation.
