The police in Oyo State caught eight people they think are ritual killers. They also caught 15 people for murder, robbery, and rape.
The head police officer, Ayodele Sonubi, told everyone about this on Friday. He said they first heard about one ritual killer on August 10. A person named Ayede reported the crime.
Sonubi explained that people in a town smelled something terrible coming from a house. This house belonged to a 40-year-old man who didn’t live there but always visited at strange times.
“Our police team from Moniya went to check the house. They found a dry well in the yard,” said Sonubi.
“When they looked inside the well, they saw something horrible. It looked like parts of human bodies,” Sonubi added.
They pulled out the remains of three unknown people. These were taken to the State Hospital for safekeeping and examination.
The main suspect was caught. He admitted to the crime and gave police the names of others who helped him. These other people are still free and on the run.
Sonubi said that back in April, this man and others tricked a 28-year-old man to come to the house. They cut off his head and legs and sold them to two other suspects.
The suspect also admitted that on August 7, he and others killed a 17-year-old boy. They cut off his head and legs, then sold them to a woman for N70,000.
