Ogun State Police agents arrested three suspects for the illegal possession and trade of human body parts in the state.
The suspects are Sunday Akintobi, 36, Oladimeji Olaniran, 40, and Isaiah Tijani, 38.
Daily Post learned that the main suspect, Akintobi, resident of the Itaku area in Abeokuta, was arrested after credible intelligence, which subsequently led to the arrest of the other two people.
Confirming the incident to the Daily Post on Friday, the police spokesman, Omolola Odutola, declared: “On April 22, 2025, around 8 am, the agents of the Police Command of the State of Ogun, through their Swat unit, acted in credible intelligence and apprehended a Sunday Akintobi, resident of the Itaku area in Abeokut human
“A greater investigation led to the arrest of two additional people, Oladimeji Olaniran and Isaiah Tijani. A search for their residences led to the recovery of body parts that are believed to be human remains.”
He added that the brain bones also recovered from a location disguised as cherubs and Serafín church in the city of Kobope, along Abiola Way in Abeokuta.
Meanwhile, the State Police Commissioner of Ogun, Lanre Ogunlowo, has ordered the State Criminal Investigation Department to carry out a discreet investigation into the case to establish the total participation of suspects in this atrocious crime.
Ogunlowo, although it maintains that cooperation is crucial to stop ritual murders and other violent crimes in the state, urged members of the public to refrain from protecting criminal elements and provide timely and credible information to security agencies.
