The Police in Anambra State have caught 200 people they think did bad things. The head of police, Mr. Nnaghe Itam, shared this news.
He also said that the police found about 1,644 bullets during this time.
The people caught include those who kidnap, belong to gangs, steal cars, and take small things without asking.
“I am making plans so that if someone reports a crime, our team can get there in just 10 minutes,” Mr. Itam mentioned.
“Governor Chukwuma Soludo has been helping us a lot, and so have other security groups like the state security services and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC).
“The local neighborhood watch groups are also helping. We are all working together,” he added.
He asked people in Anambra to share any information that can help fight crime. He said he is talking with important people like traditional leaders, church leaders, and community heads.
“I have also asked traditional leaders to change any of their old customs that might hurt people’s rights to avoid problems,” he said.
He clearly stated that taking land without permission, using magic for bad things, gangs, violence, or stopping people from being free will not be allowed in the state.
He advised anyone thinking about disturbing the peace in the state to think again because the police will stop their bad actions.
