The police in Katsina state have caught three people who were suspected of selling guns.

Their spokesperson, ASP Abubakar Aliyu, told journalists about this on Friday during a press meeting.

He said they found a lot of bullets with the suspects.

Aliyu shared that the three people were caught by the police on August 29th, around 12:45 in the morning in Dutsina Local Government Area.

He explained, “They were trying to deliver 740 bullets to armed bandits in Yauni forest, Ummadau village, Safana LGA of Katsina State.”

The spokesperson further added that early investigations showed that the suspects got the bullets from someone in Nasarawa State. They were supposed to give them to a person named Harisu, who is a well-known bandit leader and is currently hiding.

“They have admitted their role and said that Harisu is the one behind it all,” he added.

He mentioned that the police are working very hard to catch more suspects and bring them to justice.

“This success shows that we are serious about fighting against armed bandits and people selling guns in Katsina State and nearby areas,” he said.
