Two bad guys in Nasarawa State have been caught by the police. They were part of a group that tricks people using a method called ‘One Chance’ where they pick up unsuspecting passengers and rob them. The police also got their car back.
DSP Ramhan Nansel, who speaks for the police, told reporters in Lafia, the capital of the state, about this on Wednesday.
“On August 13, 2024, around 8:30 PM, the police got news about some armed robbers. They were in an old Toyota Corolla with the license plate Benue MKD 77 TF.
“The bad guys picked up a passenger from New Nyanya on the way to Area 1 in Abuja. During the ride, they took her handbag, iPhone, and other things. Then, they threw her out of the moving car,” Nansel explained.
When the police heard about this, officers from New Karu Area Command, along with some helpful people, went after the robbers.
Nansel said the police quickly found the bad guys’ car and stopped them.
“The robbers, named John Iorfa (29 years old) and James Agbo (37 years old), both from Makurdi in Benue State, were caught right away.
“The stolen items from the victim were also found during this action,” Nansel added.
The police have learned useful things from the robbers, and they are working hard to catch the other bad guys in the group.
The Commissioner of Police in Nasarawa State praised the officers who caught the robbers. He also asked the community to keep helping the police by sharing information to fight crime better.
