The Osun State Police Command has caught a bad guy named Bode Owoeye, also known as Bode Itaapa. This man is known for being part of a bad group and doing many crimes like stealing, having guns, and hurting and killing people.

Bode Owoeye, who is 32 years old, was wanted by the police because he was part of a bad group called Aiye Confraternity. This group is not allowed in the state.

The police spokesperson in Osogbo, Yemisi Opalola, told everyone about Bode’s arrest. The police found him in Ilesa because they got important information from people.

Bode told the police that he and his group worked as troublemakers for a politician named Sanya Omirin, who is a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and represents the Ijesa South Federal Constituency.

On February 9, 2024, the police received complaints that two children, Kelechi Agha and Tega Robinson, did not come back home after going to a mining site on February 8, 2024. This case was given to the Anti-Kidnapping Squad to investigate further.

The police learned that members of the Aiye Confraternity were seen carrying dangerous weapons on that day. The detectives searched the cultists’ hiding places and found a Beretta pistol and a black mask, which they kept as evidence.

Later, the detectives caught Bode Owoeye, who was also known as “Bode Itaapa.” He was known to be part of the Aiye Confraternity and was wanted by the Osun State police.

Bode admitted that his group was responsible for kidnapping and killing the victims in the bush. He also said that they worked as political troublemakers for Honourable Sanya Omirin. Another bad guy, Adefioye Solomon, who is also wanted, gave them instructions. Solomon is blamed for many killings in the Ilesa area.

Bode also confessed that they attacked Honourable Ayodeji Olaolu, the APC candidate, during an election in 2023. They shot him in the head and chest at the party office.

He revealed that their group had over 30 pump action rifles, mostly bought before the 2023 election.

The detectives also arrested another member of the Aiye Confraternity, Samuel David, who was accused of killing a person named Ibrahin Taiwo, also known as Omo-Alhaja.

During the investigation, Samuel David talked about his five partners who attacked a PDP rally on February 21, 2023, and killed someone. A complainant reported to the police that her son, Taiwo Adebiyi, also known as “Omo-Alhaja,” was killed by a man named Shittu Lekan, also known as “Araba.”

Samuel David then showed the detectives where he kept a pump action gun given to him by Bode Owoeye to use for crimes. They took the gun as evidence. Bode said he bought the gun from Mukaila Lateef, who sold guns illegally.

Along with Bode, the police also arrested Mukaila Lateef, 45 years old, and David Samuel, 26 years old.

The police took away many things from the gang, including a blue unregistered motorcycle, a locally made Beretta pistol with three bullets, a single-barrel gun, and a pump action gun. They also found a black unregistered Highlander Jeep, a black facemask, some charms, and two cross bags.

Opalola said the police are still trying to catch the other bad guys. Once the investigation is complete, the suspects will be taken to court.
