Police Apprehend 47 Suspected Kidnappers and Armed Robbers in Oyo

The police in Oyo State have caught 47 people. These people are accused of bad things like kidnapping, stealing, and attacking others.

The police spokesperson, SP Adewale Osifeso, shared this news with reporters. This announcement was on behalf of Ayodele Sonubi, the top police official in the state.

When these people were caught, the police found things like an AK-47 gun, two handmade guns, two cars, 170 bags of wheat, over a thousand boxes of glue, and a lot of money.

Mr. Osifeso explained that these arrested people were scaring others in the state. They were taken from many places around the area.

Talking about the kidnappers, Mr. Osifeso said they went to a place where herders live in Sepeteri, and they had weapons with them.

“On August 30, just after midnight, these people started shooting their guns when they arrived. They took people’s phones, a lot of money, and other important things,” he said.

“They even kidnapped some people and hid them in unknown places. Then, they called the families and asked for a big amount of money, about 50 million naira, to set them free.”

The police worked fast. Along with some local community helpers, they used plans and technology to catch these people. During the search, they caught two people who were part of the robbery and kidnapping group.

The police also got back N2.7 million, which was money given to the kidnappers by the families of the kidnapped people.

The police also showed a man of 34 years who did a very bad thing. He hurt a sick girl. This girl has a disease that makes her very weak sometimes.

He and someone else told her they would hurt her more if she didn’t go with them to a house.
